Face the Music 

Meaning: To accept judgment or punishment (nhận phạt, nhận chỉ trích)

Example: I told you not to try to sneak in, and now that you've been caught, you're just going to have to face the music.

Fall for Something

Meaning: believe something without reservation (tin vào điều gì vô điều kiện)

Example: Surely, you don't expect me to fall for that! She fell for the excuse I gave her about getting stuck in traffic.

Fall for someone

Meaning: Start feeling love towards somebody (yêu ai đó)

Example: I fell for her in a big way. She's gorgeous! Ted fell for Alice and they decided to get married.

Fall Prey to

Meaning: Be victimized by; be harmed by; be vulnerable to (bị hại)

Example: Many major cities have fallen prey to terrorist activity in recent months.

Fancy that!

Meaning: Dùng khi thể hiện sự ngạc nhiên về việc gì đó

Example: A: "Did you hear that Ed won that major award?" B: "Really? Fancy that!"

Fashion-Forward

Meaning: Tending to adopt new styles quickly (theo trend nhanh chóng)

Example: Did you see Susan’s new dress today? She’s always so fashion-forward!

Fat Cat

Meaning: A highly placed, well-paid executive (người có vị trí cao và thành công)

Example: The voters were tired of all the fat cats running for political office. They wanted someone who understood the plight of the middle class.

Fed Up With

Meaning: Refusing to tolerate something any further; out of patience (chán ghét, bực tức, buồn chán)

Example: My wife is fed up with our car, but we just can't afford a new one.

Feel Like a Million Dollars

Meaning: To feel exceptionally attractive or in very robust health. (cảm thấy bản thân thu hút và giàu có)

Example: Wow, I feel like a million dollars in this new suit!

Feel On Top of The World

Meaning: To feel very happy (vui mừng như trên đỉnh thế giới)

Example: Cathy has been feeling on top of the world ever since she got that big promotion at work.

Fight Like Cat and Dog

Meaning: Continually arguing with each other (tranh cãi không ngừng)

Example: Those two fight like cat and dog, so please don't put them together on the project.

Find One’s Voice

Meaning: Become more confident in expressing oneself (tìm thấy điểm mạnh, thể hiện tốt khả năng)

Example: I think this is your best story yet, Betsy—you've really found your voice as a writer.

Find Your Feet

Meaning: To adjust to a new place or situation (thích nghi)

Example: It took a while, but I've finally found my feet in my job.

Finger-Pointing

Meaning: Blame; a situation within a group where each member attempts to blame others (đổ lỗi cho nhau)

Example: I’m not going to get into finger-pointing because the sales campaign failed. The lesson is that we need to work better as a team.

Fish Out of Water

Meaning: A person who is in unfamiliar, confusing surroundings (cảm thấy lạ lẫm, mới mẻ với xung quanh)

Example: When Carla transferred to a new school, she felt like a fish out of water because she didn't know anyone there.

Flat Broke

Meaning: Having no money at all (vô sản)

Example: I get paid next week, so can we go out to dinner then? I'm just flat broke right now.

Flesh and Blood

Meaning: Blood relatives, close relatives (mối quan hệ máu mủ)

Example: You're my own flesh and blood - how you could you steal my story idea?

Fly High

Meaning: Be very successful, especially temporarily (thành công)

Example: Look at all the money we raised our charity has really been flying high.

Follow In Someone’s

Footsteps (Tracks)

Meaning: Follow the example laid down by someone else; supplant (nối nghiệp, học theo)

Example: My father was an engineer, and I plan to follow in his footsteps and study engineering in college.

Follow Your Heart

Meaning: Rely on one’s deeper feelings and instincts when making a decision (theo đuổi ước mơ/ con tim)

Example: I know I was making a lot of money at that job, but it was so unfulfilling. In the end, I had to follow my heart and pursue a career as an actor.

Food for Thought

Meaning: Something that makes you think carefully (khiến bạn phải suy nghĩ cẩn thận)

Example: That meeting really gave me food for thought—I might invest in their company after all.

For Xyz Reasons

Meaning: For multiple reasons, not worth specifying individually (vì nhiều lí do)

Example: Many people don't like country music for XYZ reasons, but I've always really enjoyed it.

Freak Out

Meaning: A wildly irrational reaction or spell of behavior (phát hoảng, phát giận)

Example: Mom will freak out when she finds out we broke her vase!

From Pillar to Post

Meaning: From one place to another, in a forced, random way (phong bạt từ đây sang kia)

Example: We've been going from pillar to post for the past five years. Can't we finally settle down here?

From Scratch

Meaning: From individual ingredients, not using a prepared mix (nguyên liệu thô sơ ban đầu)

Example: She doesn't have time to make cupcakes from scratch, so I'm sure they're from a box.

From Soup to Nuts

Meaning: Everything; from beginning to end (mọi thứ, từ đầu đến cuối)

Example: OK, let's go over the plan again, from soup to nuts.

From the Bottom of One’s Heart

Meaning: Sincerely and with deep feeling (từ tận đáy lòng)

Example: She thanked him from the bottom of her heart.

Full of the Joys of Spring

Meaning: Very happy, enthusiastic and full of energy (vui mừng, tràn đầy sức khỏe)

Example: I was full of the joys of spring when I found out that I'd gotten an A on my hardest exam.
